Canvas filtering
Filter panes on the canvas by type, live status, and session activity — non-matching panes dim, layout stays put.
A busy space accumulates panes fast — masters, workers, terminals, notes, browsers. The canvas filter menu narrows what you're looking at without moving anything: non-matching panes dim to the background, matching panes stay fully interactive, and nothing about the layout changes.
Open the menu from the funnel button in the top-right of the canvas, or with CmdShiftFCtrlShiftF.
What you can filter by
- Type — Agents, Workers, Terminals, Notes, Media, Browsers, Other. Multi-select — turn on as many groups as you want.
- Search — match pane titles, metadata, and indexed prompt text.
- Live status — choose All, Working, Running, or Idle. Working represents active agent turns; Running represents foreground terminal processes.
- Last activity — narrow Claude panes by the most recent session message.
- Last user message — narrow Claude panes by the most recent prompt from the user.
The date windows are 1 hour, 5 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, or 30 days. They apply only to panes with a Claude session; notes, images, browsers, and other non-session panes are unaffected.
A badge on the funnel shows the count of active filters at a glance.
How the dim works
Non-matching panes drop to ~15% opacity and stay mounted. They're still there — you can click through, they keep receiving output, and virtualization isn't fighting you. Think of it as a lens, not a lock:
- Marquee selection skips dimmed panes, so you can rubber-band across a cluster and only grab what matches.
- Layout, camera, and pane positions don't change when you toggle filters.
- EscEsc closes the menu first; press it again to clear filters.
Scope and persistence
Filters are per-space and live only in memory — switch tabs freely without losing them, but they reset when the app restarts. There is no saved-filter preset.
